Caravans
Caravans are typically towed by a vehicle. From speaking with campers so far, nobody seems to like the experience of towing. Caravans offer more space and amenities, often including a separate bedroom, kitchen and bathroom.
- They’re ideal for those who prefer a more comfortable and spacious camping experience, especially for families or longer trips.
- They Often include separate rooms for sleeping, cooking, and the toilet.
- Typically equipped with kitchen appliances, bathroom facilities, and comfortable seating.
- Caravans are great for Families, longer trips, and those seeking a more luxurious camping experience.
Campervans
Campervans are self-contained vehicles that can be driven. They offer a more compact and versatile option for camping, allowing you to explore off-the-beaten-path destinations.
Campervans often have a pop-up roof or a rear bed, providing sleeping accommodation.
- Campervans can be driven to your desired destination.
- They are generally smaller and more maneuverable than caravans.
- They are great for exploring off-grid locations and urban areas.
- Campervans seem to be more for those who prefer a more adventurous and flexible camping experience.
- Also, in a lot of cases the campervans are used as a normal vehicle when not being used for camping.
The choice between a caravan and a campervan ultimately depends on your individual needs and preferences.
Another thing to think about with either of those choices is storage. Do you have space at your property to keep it safely? or would you need to pay for storage until you use it?
Our Conclusion:
Our personal opinion is that we really love the layout of the cosy caravan but would not want to tow , although the freedom of going out in the car when on site is also very appealing. There is no clear winner for us!
